| Soller Town |
Soller
is located in the NW of Mallorca, in a valley of the Sierra de Tramuntana
which opens onto the sea. The climate, the scenery, the mountain
air, and its urban amenities make Soller a fascinating place which
captivates thousands of visitors every year. Isolated by mountains
the valley of Soller could, in the past, only be breached by the
winding country road over the top of the mountain, the "Coll
de Soller" or by a memorable journey on the famous Palma-Soller
train which has been travelling the lovely countryside to the valley
of oranges and olive groves for the last eighty years. However,
recently a tunnel has been excavated through the mountain making
access to Soller from Palma only a 30 minute journey by road. |
Soller is approximately 5 minutes
drive away and has a Saturday market
as well as many shops, cafes and restaurants. The famous vintage
wooden trams take approximately 10 minutes from Port of Soller to
reach the Town of Soller. You can catch the tram just outside our
house. Deia and
Valldemossa are both 20 & 30 minutes drive respectively along
the beautiful winding coast road. The village of Fornalutx is in
Soller valley along with other fascinating villages surrounded by
Orange & Lemon orchards.
